Private Equity Analyst (Calgary)

Azimuth is seeking a unique Analyst to assist in the development of current and future funds. A career in Private Equity is challenging, fast-paced and rewarding. The successful candidate will work directly with members of the senior leadership team gaining an in-depth understanding of the energy sector as well as the financial and operational learnings of growing energy companies.

Job Description

  • In-depth energy sector industry analysis and detailed financial modeling
  • Generating and evaluating potential investment opportunities
  • Preparing industry materials and presentations for investment partners
  • Monitoring existing portfolio investments
  • Communicating with existing limited partner investors
  • Preparing and presenting recommendations to the internal Investment Committee
  • Updating and maintaining Azimuth’s energy sector databases

Qualifications

  • A minimum of one year of finance, energy or other relevant work experience
  • Advanced presentation preparation and financial modeling skills – strong command of the Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel
  • Prior capital markets experience in the energy sector is an asset
  • A university degree in business, engineering, physics or chemistry – enrolment in/completion of a professional designation program is an asset
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Works well in a collaborative, team-based environment
  • Handles varied roles and responsibilities and meets deadlines
  • Strong work ethic and motivation; willingness to work long hours
