QS Investors, LLC is an investment firm providing asset management and advisory services to a diverse array of institutional and retail clients.  An independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Legg Mason, QS Investors manages over $20 billion in quantitative global equity and multi-asset strategies.  The multi-asset platform offers a range of outcome oriented investment strategies that deliver on investor needs in a risk managed framework.  Our multi asset capabilities include strategic and tactical asset allocation, portfolio optimization, as well as drawdown and volatility management.  We implement our portfolios using ETFs, mutual funds, segregated mandates, and derivatives.

We are seeking an Investment Analyst to join our Investment Solutions team in New York.  This position is responsible for working across the firm to create, support and determine viability of custom portfolios for QS prospects and clients.  The investment analyst will help support those offerings by contributing to research, sales, marketing, and thought leadership to create and promote portfolios. The Investment Analyst will also contribute across teams to ensure execution against the broader strategic plan of QS Investors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the investment team to design products which leverage QS and LM investment capabilities, meet client needs, and maximize product suitability across different distribution channels
  • Utilize quantitative tools for the construction of custom portfolios based on client needs and defined parameters
  • Provide investment insight while working collaboratively with research, implementation, and strategist teams to both enhance existing strategies as well as develop new client driven solutions
  • Support highly consultative and solutions-based discussions with existing and prospective investors
  • Assist in creation of marketing materials, client review materials and RFP content for the custom strategies, together with the Investment Strategy and Marketing teams
  • Develop thought leadership in conjunction with strategy, research, portfolio management and communications staff.   
  • Serve as a member of the investment team, attending and participating in research and client meetings
  • Review market trends, client needs, and the competitive landscape to identify areas of opportunity
  • Develop a keen understanding of industry leaders in key product categories, how the products are structured and key points of differentiation
  • Have a passion for and an expert understanding of markets and investing

                                                 
Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of work experience in asset management, preferably with related experience building, analyzing and/or representing multi-asset investment strategies.
  • Knowledge and comfort with quantitative concepts and quantitative multi-asset strategies
  • Experience using third party applications to analyze data
  • Python knowledge preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required, CFA/MBA preferred
  • Drive to succeed and help to grow a business;
  • Strong communication skills, both with clients and internal partners
  • Work well under pressure with ability to meet specific deadlines and make decisions
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team-environment
