Organizational Description:
The Pohlad Organization was founded by Carl R. Pohlad in the 1950s, with an initial focus on banking and related financial services. The Pohlad family interests have expanded to include a variety of businesses in different industry segments that include: financial services, real estate, IT consulting, retail, film production, and major league baseball with the Minnesota Twins. Position Purpose
The Analyst is an integral member of the team and will be responsible for assisting in the reporting and portfolio management of the investment portfolios as directed by the Controller. This position may also be called upon to provide analytical support to various special projects and investment transactions.
Key Accountabilities
- Maintain financial data for investments in the system of record
- Assist in preparation of month-end investment portfolio reports and variance commentary
- Monitor portfolio investment performance, asset allocations, and cash flows
- Generate portfolio performance packages for the quarterly Board and Investment Committee Meetings
- Support quarterly and annual budgeting/forecasting processes
- Monitor closely financial press and keep track of market trends, opportunities, risks and new investment products
- Create/maintain ad hoc reports
- Support special projects and investment transactions as needed
- Interact with fund managers and network with industry professionals

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of financial markets, portfolio management, and investment strategies preferred
- Demonstrated strong finance, accounting, research, and analytical skills
- Articulate and capable of expressing complicated ideas orally and in writing
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- High level of initiative, motivation, problem solving, and attention to detail in a dynamic deadline driven environment with competing priorities
- Ability to work in a close-knit team environment while at the same time acting in a self-directed manner
Education and Experience (minimum qualifications)
- 4-year degree from a top-tier school, preferably accounting, finance, mathematics, or other related field
- 1-3 years of experience in investment banking, accounting/audit, hedge fund or private equity preferred
Work Environment
