Job Details
The SBA is seeking a Portfolio Manager to join its Fixed Income (FI) asset class. This position has significant responsibility to identify alpha strategy opportunities and support the performance of the Fixed Income Asset Class. The Portfolio Manager reports to the Senior Portfolio Manager-Investment Grade Credit (SPM).The Portfolio Manager will manage monthly and daily reporting for the credit team, develop and revise data models, and track and prepare reports on economic conditions.
What you’ll do
- Analyzing fundamental and relative value research and providing written reports, for assigned credits held in the internal activity managed corporate bond portfolio
- Evaluating new issues brought to market daily for the internal active corporate bond portfolio
- Preparing and presenting economic reviews and tracks data of investor sentiment/anxiety cycles
- Managing and preparing monthly reports for ongoing monitoring of the internal actively managed corporate bond portfolio and weekly reports for classes B&D counterparties
- Constructing data models and performing research for identified alpha strategy opportunities and participating in Fixed Income Departmental special projects
- Interacting with SPM and other corporate credit PMs
- Analyzing fundamental research and provides written reports for short-term portfolio issuers within assigned sectors
- Performing other duties as assigned
What you should have
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in finance, mathematics, accounting, economics, statistics, business, computer science, management information systems (MIS), or a related field and three years of related experience. Or any combination of education and/or experience equal to the minimum requirements.
Preferences:
- Strong analytical background, with experience analyzing corporate bond fundamentals and relative value
- Excel-VBA programming skills
- Experience with Bloomberg and Barclays Point and other analytical tools/systems
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- General knowledge of accounting
- General knowledge of corporate finance & competitive strategy
- General knowledge of macroeconomics
- General knowledge of statistics
- Basic corporate credit analysis skills
- Basic securities valuation analysis skills
- Advanced skills in building and manipulating Excel spreadsheets
- Ability to independently drive & complete projects
- Ability to assimilate a large volume of complex information in a short period of time
- Ability to quickly weigh pros and cons of inter-related variables
