POSITION SUMMARY:

The Application Analyst will sit within Nuveens Data Strategy Technology team - a group of cross skilled technology professionals that partners with Nuveens Product Strategy and Execution Business Unit. This individual will partner with business and technology teams to analyze, interpret, and document requirements for complex business problems and recommend comprehensive technology and high-light any data gaps during initial phase of project.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Develop a deep understanding and analyze user workflows to arrive at clear vision of needs to optimize the user experience - Define current state and develop future state system as well as business process flows
  • Document requirements, defines scope and objectives, and formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies
  • Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and come up with solutions as required Participate in an Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software releases on a periodic basis through Sprints
  • Serves as initial point of escalation for all processing and operational issues Research and introduce new emerging technologies

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Skills:
  • Strong academic credentials. An undergraduate degree is required. A post-graduate degree or relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFA), or progress towards one, would be viewed favorably
  • A minimum of 12+ years of experience in application development in a full SDLC environment for a financial services firm, with a minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience in designing and implementing solutions
  • A thorough familiarity with various fixed income analytics, their calculations and data requirements
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Experience working with large scale Data Warehousing/Data Lake
  • Solid technology background, including an understanding of applications used in financial services
Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with Tableau, OBIEE or other reporting tools
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) with senior leaders and peers, facilitation, interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Responsive and proactive in answering questions
  • Broad knowledge of Investment Management industry operations, and market data providers
