JOB SUMMARY:

Leads and manages multiple complex projects within Investment Operations using advanced workflows, concepts and tools. Accomplishes project objectives by designing processes, planning and executing project activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages and provides guidance to the personnel responsible for the management of a portfolio of projects.
  • Leads and manages multiple complex or enterprise-wide projects using advanced concepts and tools.
  • Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews.
  • Prepares and completes action plans. Implements production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.
  • Resolves problems.
  • Completes audits. Identifies trends.
  • Determines system improvements and implements change.
  • Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements. Prepares an annual budget.
  • Schedules expenditures.
  • Analyzes variances. Initiates corrective actions.
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.
  • Explores opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Accomplishes human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
  • Communicates job expectations by planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designs, manages and execute multiple projects and new processes within the Investment Operations function. 
  • Ensures efficient data flows between various investment management systems including but not limited to custodian systems, Dynamo, Private I, eVestment, Tableau and Bloomberg.
  • Provides complex data analysis and displays analytical outputs visually through charts and other graphics to convey messages effectively.
  • Works as part of the Operations, Risks & Performance team to support the Investment teams oversee portfolio management, enforcing internal controls and implementation of well-designed processes.
  • Serves as daily point person with custodian (BNY Mellon), including management of vendor relationship.           
  • Designs and performs cash flow projections using different scenarios. Responsible for cash management, movement of collateral, liquidity monitoring and reconciliation of daily cash flows.
  • Assists in creating the infrastructure to leverage data to enhance investment decision making, including the monthly Portfolio Asset Allocation (PAA) discussions.
  • Liaise with Tax and Legal colleagues to ensure all risks are addressed adequately, policies followed and investment decisions executed effectively and efficiently.           
  • Liaise with CCF Accounting and Treasury colleagues to ensure all risks are addressed, internal controls are sound, processes are efficient and information is shared seamlessly.
  • Implements on-boarding process to ensure new investments are accurately included in all internal systems in pertinent terms are tracked; reviews subscription, termination and account opening documents.
  • Designs and leads processes surrounding monitoring incoming communications and workflows.
  • Cross trains on all operational aspects to ensure redundancies and adequate coverage.
  • Determines system improvements and implements change.
  • Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews.
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different value-add projects.
  • Accomplishes human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, and counseling junior staff.
  • Enforces policies and procedures.
  • Depending on level of experience, works with senior team members (and vendor) on Operational Due Diligence.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or related field. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management or related field is preferred.
  • Master's Degree preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) or Certificate in Project Management from an accredited college is preferred.
  • Pursuit of CFA/CAIA designation is recommended and preferred

COMPLEXITY OF WORK:

  • Demonstrated ability to teach and coach less experienced team members in project management methodologies and tools.
  • Effective relationship building skills are required.
  • Must be able to juggle multiple assignments and execute in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Must be familiar with various technology and software systems used in the investment management industry.
  • Proficient with large amount of data.
  • Proficient knowledge of software used for investment analysis, portfolio management, and reporting such as Microsoft Office (with an emphasis on Excel), Bloomberg as well as other financial and statistical software packages (e.g., Dynamo, Tableau, eVestment, Private i, bank custodian interfaces).
  • Familiarity with the markets and an understanding of finance, economics, accounting, investment, and insurance principles and practices is preferred.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills.
  • The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, well-organized, independent, entrepreneurial, assertive, and self-motivated, possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to prioritize in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, modeling, and written and oral communication skills.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience leading projects/teams in assigned area which may include experience in a technical systems environment, experience involving complex financial system applications, etc.

PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of seven years of experience in business management, and financial data analytics within investment management.  
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and coach less experienced team members
  • Strong track record in effective relationship building skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
  • May require periods of sitting, standing and the ability to walk to various locations throughout the health system to attend meetings.
  • Must have normal or corrected vision and be able to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person.
  • Must have own transportation to travel to multiple sites.
