If you have a strong interest in the Energy, Infrastructure and Utilities sector then joining our Cash Equities Research team as an Associate Analyst will see you work alongside highly experienced senior research analysts in this space. You'll gain knowledge and build your technical skills, which should allow you to ultimately build your career as an Equities Analyst.

The Equities Research team at Macquarie provides highly informative commentary aimed at assisting institutional clients with their investment decisions. In the role of Associate Analyst, it's important that you can build good working partnerships, be able interact with key industry participants and possess an ability to research, analyse and assist with providing commentary on the sector.

You'll work closely with our Lead Analyst/s, but in time and with proven skills, have the opportunity to take on direct coverage of some ASX listed companies. As your expertise develops, the role will include marketing the teams research to clients via face to face meetings and investment presentations. The key foundations to being successful will include strong technical capabilities, research and report writing skills, an ability to build a relationship with your peers, your sales team and your clients. You'll need to be hardworking, pro-active, confident with an outgoing, commercial and committed work approach.

We see you as holding tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting or in a technical field (Engineering, Sciences) along with a high level of financial analysis and modelling skills. An understanding of valuation and pricing techniques is essential. Dual degrees or a post graduate qualification such as CA or CFA will be highly-regarded. Given the sector specialities, some experience in the Energy space would be valuable. You will be able to demonstrate a stable, yet progressive work history to date with 2+ years direct experience in equities analysis, strategy, consulting or industry (applicants working directly in pricing or strategy within energy, utilities or infrastructure sectors are welcome).

If you meet our criteria, please submit a covering letter and concise resume as one Word or PDF-formatted document. To include your letter, simply insert an additional page into the front or back of your resume.
