Join us in London as an Associate in our Infrastructure & Project Financing team
  • This this a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven person to join the Commercial & Private Banking Structured Finance business as an Associate in the Infrastructure & Project Financing team
  • The team is a market leader providing financing solutions across a range of infrastructure sectors including energy and renewables, transport, utilities, and oil and gas, and provides advisory and debt capital markets services to clients as well as providing debt finance
  • You'll be given considerable responsibility and be in a great position to develop your knowledge of debt financing, origination and structuring, loan documentation and negotiation, credit analysis, debt advisory, ratings advisory, debt capital markets and financial modelling

What you'll do

As an Associate, your responsibilities will include supporting origination and execution of debt financing and advisory opportunities with new and existing clients and sponsors in the infrastructure and project financing sectors.

Your responsibilities will also include:
  • Preparing first class pitch materials, preparing credit and capital analysis, reviewing due diligence and negotiate term sheets and loan documentation
  • Supporting senior team members in their origination efforts including building relationships with investors
  • Seeking to cross sell the wider bank's product offering as appropriate for client needs
  • Ensuring adherence to the control, reporting, compliance and regulatory regime within the business

The skills you'll need

We're looking for a highly driven person with strong interest and experience in the infrastructure and project financing sectors. You'll need to be analytical and have experience of debt structuring and loan documentation, and have knowledge of the loan and capital markets. We would also consider somebody from a legal background with infrastructure or project financing experience.

We'll expect the following professional experience:
  • Knowledge of the European infrastructure market, or project and acquisition financing experience
  • Strong experience in structuring, credit assessment and due diligence for lending transactions
  • A track record of working with others to deliver complex transactions for clients, including to challenging deadlines
  • Commercial and relationship skills to deliver profitable transactions while building long term client relationships
  • The ability to work effectively with stakeholders inside the bank and with clients and other external stakeholders
  • A practical understanding of - and experience applying - risk management disciplines

We'll also be looking for the following skills and qualifications:
  • A strong academic record with at least an undergraduate degree, and ideally an accountancy or CFA qualification
  • Full fluency in English, ideally with one or more additional European languages
  • Demonstrably high degree of numerical, verbal and analytical competence
