Within JPM, the Treasury and Chief Investment Office (T/CIO) isresponsible for driving firm-wide balance sheet strategy, including ensuringthat the firm achieves its capital and liquidity targets and its desiredinterest rate exposure while optimally utilizing its balance sheet resources togenerate shareholder value.

Capital Management is team within T/CIO that oversees the risk-weightedasset ("RWA") and capital measurement processes across the Firm, and helpsensure efficient and appropriate management of our capital. The primaryobjectives of the Capital Management Team are to provide:
  • Streamlined reporting of RWA andcapital ratios and forecasts to management, Regulators, Lines of Business("LOBs") and others
  • Coordinated Firmwide and legal entityprojections of capital and RWA
  • Timely expertise and responses to LOBrequests to calculate RWA for new transactions
  • Guidance on LOB-specific sensitivitiesto key business actions as well as deep-dive training on rules and models

Job Summary
The individual's responsibilities will include:
  • Contributing to critical analyses forOperating Committee meetings and annual offsite, Board of Directors meetings,and other management forums :
    • Contributing to analyses in support ofInvestor Day, Earnings, ALCO, Treasurer's Forum and Asset Strategy Group
    • Developing Questions & Answers forsenior management - gathering input from multiple partner groups, conductingquantitative analysis to size impacts, etc.
  • Prepare objective analysis thatprovides perspective to senior management to support decision-making onhigh-profile, topical issues related to capital targets, capital minimumsallocations and distribution strategy
  • Analysis of peer capital positionincluding quarterly earnings updates, stress testing results, and GSIB profile
  • Partner with all functions within Capitaland Liquidity Management, Corporate Financial Analytics (CFA), and LOBs toexecute and track strategic projects

The position involves exposure to senior management and the individualwill work with many teams across the Firm including Treasury, CFA, LOBs, andRegulatory Policy. The ability to pick-up new concepts quickly, workefficiently, and communicate effectively across these boundaries will be one ofthe keys to success.

  • 3 or more years of relevant experience;background in financial institutions and strategy preferred
  • Undergraduate degree; sciences,economics, engineering, or finance preferred
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Officeapplications (PowerPoint and Excel in particular) required
  • Prior knowledge and experience inregulatory capital preferred
  • Creative self-starter with stronginitiative and ability to take ownership and work independently as well ascontribute to the broader team
  • Strong interpersonal and communicationskills and ability to multi-task and work effectively with senior management ina fast paced environment to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking,and problem solving skills with a track record of execution againstdeliverables
