What is the opportunity?

Reporting to the Director, Market and Counterparty Credit Risk Strategic Delivery, the incumbent is responsible to provide business knowledge, subject matter expertise and leadership for the completion of changes related to Market and Counterparty Credit Risk systems. As a product owner delegate, the incumbent will help to prioritize work, get clarification on business requirements and expected outcomes, and coordinate activities with risk and IT teams to drive changes efficiently to completion. This includes contributing to multi-year strategies for Market and Counterparty Credit Risk applications and processes, to ensure the effective use of funding to provide accurate and insightful risk management capabilities.

What will you do?
  • Be responsible for defining strategies, priorities and requirements with business stakeholders and IT teams to successfully deliver on Market and Counterparty Credit Risk system changes, in alignment with a common strategic vision
  • Ensure that systems are appropriately maintained in order for Market and Counterparty Credit Risk teams to provide timely and effective oversight and responsiveness to evolving business needs
  • Develop and implement new processes to enhance the effectiveness of budget spent on system changes
  • Ensure requirements are appropriately collected, documented and prioritized, ensure testing and implementation outcomes are appropriately documented and communicated, and lead end-to-end testing and sign-off processes in coordination with IT and risk teams
  • Provide effective challenge on the business benefits and associated costs of requests in order to put forward recommendations on the effective use of budget
  • Work actively with the Front Office businesses, Group Risk Management, and other RBC functional groups to develop strategies and provide industry expertise to ensure risk monitoring and analysis is complete and accurate

What do you need to succeed?

  • Minimum five years of experience, with three years in risk management roles
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Self-motivated individual with a high-level of analytical capabilities, strong attention to detail and exceptional problem solving skills
  • Advanced technical knowledge of Financial Industry concepts, regulations and practices, including a superior understanding of traded products, particularly derivatives and security finance and their associated risks
  • MBA, MA, MS, or equivalent, with emphasis in finance, economics or a quantitative discipline

  • CFA or FRM
  • Strong computer skills, including Excel
  • Maturity level and skill/judgment to deal effectively with market and counterparty credit risk groups, at a variety of seniority levels, across various geographies
  • Ability to assimilate and interpret information covering a wide range of differing business areas and regulatory dimensions
