Key activities will include:
- Screening, researching, analyzing, and monitoring external investment. managers across the breadth of investment lifecycle - sourcing opportunities, conducting detailed due diligence, investing capital, monitoring investments and liquidating holdings.
- Broad exposure across all alternatives asset classes including liquid fixed income, event driven and other equity strategies.
- Preparing investment reports.
- Presenting to the broader team and the Assets Committee.
- Maintaining a database of investment opportunities.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- A relevant qualification e.g. MBA, CFA, ACA or relevant degree.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
- Experience of working in a busy team in a fast-paced environment.
- Persuasive and succinct communication (both written and oral).
- Core understanding of investment in terms of how returns are calculated, and what makes a good investments.
- Self-starter - capable of working with limited supervision, but confident enough to engage and seek help and guidance.
- Attention to detail and accuracy, but vital to be able to stand back and see the big picture.
- Flexible, organised and keen to learn.
- Excellent written, presentational and communication skills.
