The FMDP is a finance program that falls under the executive direction of our CFO, and is part of our greater Leadership Development Program. This is a program for candidates that aspire to be leaders in finance & accounting. It is intended to be a career launching opportunity that may offer high performing Associates an opportunity for a rotation in another geographic location in the second year of the program.

The Opportunity:
The goal of the FMDP program is to create a pipeline of talent for future finance succession planning, at a leadership level. The program will give you the chance to work in unique, challenging and constantly evolving roles that are critical to our multiple global businesses. The projects will range in scope, allowing you to showcase your talents to a broad range of colleagues and executives, while giving you the experience necessary to thrive in senior finance roles. Your professional development will be encouraged and supported by a dedicated Program Manager, a growing pool of FMDP alumni and our Finance Executives.

What you'll need to succeed:
  • Masters level degree, graduating between May 2019 - May 2020 (MBA, MSc, MA, ME, MFIN)
  • Start date is July 1 st 2020
  • Position is located in New York / New Jersey
  • Minimum 3 years related experience in a finance role, business environment or entrepreneurial position
  • Solid understanding of accounting and financial theory
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to lead projects and build relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, as well as confidence to "speak up" with poise to deal with challenging situations
  • Advanced Excel skills, experience with advanced functions, VBA, Macros, financial modeling.
  • Problem solving, analytical and decision making skills with strong business acumen
  • Maturity with life experience, the ability to take initiative; deal with change & ambiguity; think of your feel and a willingness to speak up.

What differentiates you?
  • Programming and database design skills; Entrepreneurial skills; Experience in an advisory position.
  • You hold or are working towards a finance/accounting designation (CPA, CFA)
  • Working knowledge of Axiom Software

What you'll do:
  • This two year program consists of four rotations of six months. These rotations will be held in either a head office finance unit or a business finance environment, in an advisory or governance capacity and may include Wealth Management Finance; Performance Management; Financial Controls; Capital Planning and Regulatory Reporting.
  • Associates are considered valuable partners and they will have ownership and accountability. They will gain hands on experience as they complete assignments that provide strategic advice to our partners. Tasks may include planning; forecasting; budgeting; stress testing; competitive benchmarking; financial modeling; risk policy governance; trend & variance analysis; quarterly business review; providing insight to senior management; leading & supporting key initiatives.
