At TDS Data Services, Strategy and Governance, we are always looking for newer, more efficient ways to gather, manage, analyze and distribute data which means the possibilities for growth and innovation are endless.

We are a diverse and talented team within TD Securities that manages a wide range of data to help facilitate and drive the TD-Client relationship. Every single client that TD deals will have data associated with them to allow TD to trade or do business.

Data Services, Strategy and Governance is a team comprised of approximately 60 professionals that provides timely and accurate reference data services (client, credit, inventory, trading agreement, security, market and SSI) aligned to strong Governance programs, to key stakeholders globally by designing robust, scalable and flexible infrastructure and process through strategic design aligned to TD Securities' mandate of Simplification

Job Description

  • Generate accurate and complete Market Valuation Process (MVP) market data in accordance with the Global and associated business line IPV policies. This consists of daily validation and analysis of MVP data in the Asset Control system, as well as data reconciliation in all downstream systems.
  • Demonstrate the TD Framework and share commitments in daily activities. This consists of establishing strong relationships with Front Office, CMRM, Technology teams, audit teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders. The candidate is also expected to participate in team building and personal development activities, which aim to promote team harmony and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Actively engage in all Market Data initiatives or implementation projects aimed to either reduce market data costs or improve effectiveness of internal controls and business support.
  • Actively contribute to new projects or requirements initiated by the Project Delivery Team, Front Office or CMRM teams. This consists of understanding the project requirements, ensuring that downstream impact and limitations are properly understood and addressed, and providing feasible solutions to identified roadblocks.
  • Manage the annual audit engagements by maintaining the accuracy and completeness assertions of all assigned processes. This consists of escalating any identified control gaps, ensuring that all late or missing market data uploads and related metrics are documented and appropriately explained. The candidate is also expected to ensure that all internal control processes are adequately documented in accordance with the Global Operations Standards.
  • Maintain a good understanding of the financial markets in general and the various products employed by the business to be able to contribute to the broader Business Services group as a subject matter expert on complex products pricing & risk issues.


Requirements

Education/Accreditations:
  • An undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Finance

Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
  • A general understanding of market environments and trading businesses.
  • Detailed knowledge of equity and equity derivatives at a level generally gained through practical experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of derivative valuation and risk measurement techniques gained through academic study and practical experience.
  • Experience with implementation of IT projects from a business user side would be considered an asset.
  • Strong analytic, problem-solving, conceptualization and strategic thinking skills.
  • Independent thinker, and takes initiative to capitalize on opportunities or minimize problems.
  • Excellent PC skills and solid knowledge of Bloomberg, Reuters, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visio.
  • Must have VBA programming, SQL, and database management experience.
  • Enrollment in CFA/FRM program is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
