The Role: Director, Sales (ASEAN)

Director of Sales will be responsible for identifying and closing new business opportunities across the Commercial Lending & Insurance (CL&I) segment in Southeast Asia. The solutions span across our desktop business (company intelligence, research, analytics) and more complex solutions such as credit risk consulting, credit analytics and enterprise datafeeds

The candidate will be responsible for contributing to our growth startegy into the ASEAN market, with a focus on countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. They will carry an independent sales goal for selling our complex solutions (credit risk consulting services) into the CL&I segment and contributing to the overall revenue generation of the team

The Impact: Help grow our market share through new client prospecting and identifying new business opportunities within existing client base in collaboration with Relationship Managers. Given the rising demand for data, research, insights, and analytics across the rapidly expanding credit and risk universe of the region, you will be able to lead from the front and directly impact the future growth of the business

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for driving the revenue growth of S&P Global Market Intelligence business across Commercial Lenders and Insurance Companies in South-east Asia.
  • Responsible for selling more complex solutions such as credit risk models, credit analytics and enterprise datafeeds into a defined territory
  • Develop and nurture deep and strong relationships with client organisations, addressing their needs, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. This includes specifically reaching out to 'C-Suite', senior institutional & commercial lenders, senior credit & risk officers (eg. Chief Risk Officers, Heads of Credit), chief financial officers, etc
  • Contribute to the business strategy through a deep understanding of and keeping up to date with key industry news and events involving clients and prospects alike, macro/ market trends / regulations impacting local markets and keeping abreast of our competitive landscape.
  • Develop an exceptional understanding of, and stay current on, the S&P Global Market Intelligence products and solutions and their application to specific job functions
  • Produce accurate sales forecasting and keep an up-to-date pipeline, contacts and meeting notes in SalesForce CRM system

Qualifications/Experience:
  • More than 5 years of direct sales experience in the institutional financial markets, preferably working with commercial lending banks & insurance
  • Strong network of contacts within the commercial lending segment in South East Asia
  • Analytical capabilities in the areas of credit risk, financial modeling and valuation analysis is highly desirable
  • CFA qualifications or MAppFin is a plus
  • Strong communication, organization, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Strong personal integrity and a confident and positive manner
  • Entrepreneurial mindset; demonstrates drive, initiative, energy and sense of urgency
  • Work effectively in a team-based environment as well as independently
  • Desire and flexibility to learn and grow in an ever-changing environment
