Position Overview and Responsibilities:

CAPTRUST seeks a Wealth/Discretion Manager. The Manager will be focused on:

  • Understanding and seeking to improve our wealth discretionary models
  • Preparing High Net Worth Prospect Analysis reports- utilizing various investment tools and the candidates well rounded knowledge of investment markets, client risk sensitivity and Financial Advisors’ marketing process; this will include analysis of prospect portfolios and suggested
  • Along with other members of the Wealth/Discretion team, the candidate will assist in normal wealth team activities such as tax loss harvesting and rebalancing portfolios
  • The candidate will distinguish themselves by being able to work with newly acquired firms in integrating into the CAPTRUST centralized investment process; this area requires a special knowledge of markets, and an appreciation for the importance of building relationships with new Financial Advisors; it requires tact, strategic thinking and the ability to display confidence in oneself and in the CAPTRUST investment process and products
  • A singular and important aspect of this role will be to assist the Head of Wealth/Discretion deal with the many complicated questions and knotty problems of our 200 Financial Advisors. This candidate will need to have a deep knowledge of markets and market history. They will need to understand potential impacts of macroeconomic policy changes on client portfolios.  This person will be a key part of the Wealth leadership team and be seen as a “go to” person for almost all Financial Advisor questions on markets and portfolios. As CAPTRUST grows, we will need this person to take on more senior wealth tasks. The Manager will report to the Head of Wealth/Discretion and receive direction from Chief Investment Officer Research Group

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4 year college degree
  • 10+ years experience within the investments and wealth arena

Highly Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • Investment designations/certifications highly preferred; CFA
  • Strong analytical abilities focused on equities, fixed income and other investment instruments
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with clients and explain complex investment topics in a simple and understandable manner
  • Exceptional attention to every detail and a personal ambition to be error-free
  • Prioritization skills; multi-task skills; able to manage many time-sensitive tasks simultaneously
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Able to design spreadsheets using formulas, linking cells, and graphing functions
  • Experience with Bloomberg and investment manager due diligence software packages and investment manager analytics
