As an Institutional Client Relationship Manager, this individual will be responsible for establishing, retaining and growing relationships with the largest and/or most complex institutional clients. Consults with clients around investment strategy, account performance, new solutions, and market developments. Develops a broad and deep understanding of the clients’ needs and challenges and working to meet those needs by leveraging the capabilities of the entire organization. Partners with all teams to manage all service, sales and support activities for assigned accounts. Has a thorough understanding of the assigned clients' reporting, regulatory, guideline and servicing requirements. Has a key role in new business efforts and may manage more junior staff.
Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Pro-actively manage/schedule client and consultant meetings Primary point of contact for client communications and inquiries Responsible for communicating changes impacting strategy and/or legal documentation Ongoing assessment of portfolio strategy with respect to client objectives and preferences Collaborate with Firm leadership to develop and deliver Galliard messaging Oversee new account on-boarding/departures Oversee negotiation and execution of legal agreements Oversee review of and or drafting of reporting / deliverables (e.g., portfolio data and commentary, attribution, etc.) Develop relationships with client field consultants Identify new business opportunities with existing customers Support Sales and new business opportunities, as needed Participate in industry groups and events for market visibility and client development Keeping abreast of current industry trends, economic events, regulations and pertinent information for effective communication to clients and consultants Assist in the development of support/junior staff, as needed May consider other locations.
7+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: portfolio management, sales, marketing, or institutional relationship management
Extensive knowledge and understanding of investment industry: products, asset classes, capabilities, and services Solid knowledge and understanding of asset management industry and client types Ability to hold consultative meetings and deliver solution oriented proposals An active Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills
Other Desired Qualifications
Stable value experience and/or extensive knowledge of stable value investment concepts Fixed income experience and/or extensive knowledge of fixed income investment concepts Self-starter with a sense of ownership and a desire to learn the business and contribute at a high level Strong problem-solving skills and ability to quickly assess service requests and determine proper action Experience with a CRM tool (e.g. Protrak, Salesforce) Demonstrated team player with a positive attitude and successful experience in a team-oriented support role
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
