Department Overview
Capital Markets Technology is within the Enterprise Information Technology business and the portfolio consists of Technology solutions for Primary Markets /Investment Banking/GIB Municipal Products/Asset Backed Finance, various Secondary Markets Trading verticals (like Equities, Fixed Income, and Commodities etc.) and Institutional Investor Services (like Prime Brokerage, Futures Commission Merchant Services).

About the Role
India Head of Investment Portfolio Technology partners directly with several portfolio managers and technology leaders reporting to CIO, Capital Markets Technology. Focus will include delivering solutions for several business functions from order and position management, valuation and risk management, portfolio construction and optimization, research and analytics, regulatory submissions, hedge accounting and loss forecasting across investments ranging from fixed income securities to renewable energy investments. Given the critical role this business plays in asset liability management for the bank, opportunities to work on large transactions within short time frames can add significant stress to the technology platform.

Role and Responsibilities
• Lead a technology team of 50+ members across multiple locations with direct responsibilities for Business Analysis, Development and QA teams and indirect responsibilities for application support teams.
• Lead, design and develop technology solutions to complex problems that require both in depth knowledge of capital markets and strong technical expertise.
• Collaborate with US technology managers for projects driven by them with a team extension model.
• Drive full project life cycle for other projects / applications including user interaction, planning, development, testing and L3 support.
• Proactively manage risk including deliverables, operational issues through implementation of right controls and escalate where required.
• Design and develop applications, tools and processes to ensure better safety, reliability and supportability.
• Provide leadership in building and maturing Investment Portfolio technology competencies.

Essential Qualifications
• Bachelors degree with excellent analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Clear demonstration of ability to manage a 50+ technology team across multiple sites working for multiple LoB's of an organization (preferably in financial services environment)
• Must have 15+ years of experience, of which at least 5 years in senior management roles leading large teams of teams and 10+ years in Capital Market
• Working knowledge of the several capital markets and investment banking business practices and related applications.

Desired experience
• Demonstrable success in creating effective technology teams in global business environments. Experience in an in-house center would be desirable.
• Must have good understanding of current and future trends and practices in Technology.
• CFA, MBA, and/or Financial Engineering degree is a major plus.
• Proven record in a successful global delivery environment, across multiple countries and cultures.
