A Global Commodities shop is currently looking to make a VP level Credit Officer hire in their NYC office. This person will be responsible for minimizing risk and financial loss by corresponding with global counterparts and internal trading teams. This person must have an established counterparty credit risk background, strong understanding of physical commodities trading and an understanding of international law related to AML/ compliance regulations. The team is looking for a technical "Go-Getter" who is comfortable in a fast paced environment, making quick decisions on their own. Strong communication skills are imperative along with a track record of the ability to build relationships.

Responsibilities:
- Performs periodic financial statement analysis, including preparation of credit reviews that assign an internal credit rating and risk limits.
- Prepares and distributes daily/weekly exposure reports
- Close collaboration with regional and global credit management for credit limits > $1mn
- Manages credit and customer credit exposure control.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Finance or Business related (CFA or MBA preferred)
- 6 - 10 years of experience years of credit analysis or evaluation of corporate debt or equity within commodities are required.
- Experience developing and implementing trading policies and procedures.
- Credit management and contract negotiation.
- Knowledge of ISDA (International Standard Documentation Agreement) and SAP is preferred.
- Strong communication is imperative
- Experienced at using Excel
