Our Investment Operations group has approximately 900 associates globally, supporting core components of our investment offerings and growth of the business. Core Operations supports the investment process and distribution efforts by performing accounting, fund administration, and securities operations for the investment portfolios available to Capital Group's global clients. The department's strong accounting and finance capabilities, along with the agility to build new capabilities, enable superior investment outcomes and service for our clients. Key responsibilities include daily valuation of securities, trade processing and settlement, corporate actions research and processing, collateral management, and accounting, including net asset value determination and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review daily and periodic valuation with increasing complexity
  • Apply established processes to ensure daily pricing of portfolio securities in accordance with Capital Group's valuation policy and procedures. Research and implement new valuation procedures in accordance with regulatory and/or audit guidance
  • Work with Capital Group investment professionals to obtain guidelines on valuation methodologies
  • Collaborate with Capital Group investment professionals to understand, build and review valuation models for hard to value assets (level 3)
  • Stay ahead of valuation industry trends through self-education, attendance of valuation conferences. Report updates back to management and present monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc valuation reports to internal Committees and Boards
  • Participate in technical training for other associates; provide feedback to manager regarding associate performance and developmental needs. Lead and/or actively participate in various projects

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business is required; CPA, CFA, CAIA or MBA is preferred
  • 3+ years progressive experience leading people, processes, and/or projects
  • Strong technical systems skills, especially in Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx
  • General knowledge of valuation methods, mutual funds or investment management
  • Exceptional standard of quality involving accuracy, attention to detail, organization, self-review skills, thoughtful analysis, problem solving, and accountability
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed and complete work on tight deadlines
