Department Overview

The Treasury and Balance Sheet Management (TBSM) department of TD Bank is responsible for overseeing the management of non-trading market risk, consolidated liquidity risk and consolidated capital position for TD Bank's North American Personal and Commercial (P&C) businesses. The Funds Transfer Pricing Measurement and Analytics (FTP M&A) team within TBSM supports the margin measurement, reporting, and management functions for the bank's North American P&C businesses. The team defines, attributes and reports the margin and Net Interest Income (NII) performance of the bank's various products. Team members support the design of new products, portfolio profitability and product pricing decisions. Overview of Team and Individual Responsibilities: The FTP Reporting team is responsible for summarizing margin and NII performance for North American business lines through existing methods and the future state centralized Tableau reporting tool. The group will own the explanation of actual, forecast and stress testing results by isolating macro (Capital Markets, economic) and product specific drivers to inform stakeholders from TBSM, Product Management and Finance. The Senior Analyst, FTP Asset/Liability & Equity Reporting will be responsible for producing portfolio margin and NII actuals and forecast reporting, investigating and articulating key drivers of performance while encouraging the adoption of a "self serve" reporting operating model with business partners.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities of this position include:
• Own the production and presentation of margin, NII, attribution reporting for CDN / US Retail / Corporate (Capital) products within established SLAs, developing portfolio expertise to explain key drivers of results.
• Initiate investigations into actual and forecast portfolio results with tenacity and curiosity.
• Keep abreast of changes in interest rates, producing reporting to explain movements relative to historical actual and forecast periods.
• Establish and maintain relationships with Product Management, Finance, as well as other TBSM teams (such as US ALM, FTP teams, Modelling and MRMA). These relationships will be essential in understanding trends and articulating consistent internal narratives.
• Leverage product expertise to raise potential FTP measurement issues and Balance Sheet Optimization opportunities.
• Develop new reporting while continuously advancing and rationalizing existing reporting views to maximize value.
• Provide secondary reporting support for similar portfolios.
• Develop Tableau expertise and share knowledge with business partners to increase use of the tool (promote a "self serve" mentality).
• Contribute to an engaging team culture, sharing knowledge and ideas to increase treasury, banking, and reporting expertise.

Requirements

Specific Educational Requirements:
• Post-secondary degree in a related field (ex. Finance, Business, Economics, etc.).
• MBA, CA, CMA, CFA considered an asset.

Qualifications: Familiarity with:
• The features and characteristics of North American retail banking products.
• Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) concepts and their application to personal and commercial mortgage, loan and deposit products.
• Principles of interest rate risk management, including asset and liability management, (e.g. duration, convexity, key rate immunization) as well as liquidity management.
• Prior experience with Tableau considered an asset.
• Using computer tools for data retrieval and analysis, in particular Excel; DB2, SQL, Access, Data Cubes and OLAP tools would also be an asset.
