  • Execution of assigned components of audit engagement
  • Develop a work plan or approach for assigned components of audit
  • Keeping Senior Audit Manager informed as to the effectiveness of internal control for assigned components of the audit engagement.
  • Adherance to/ implementation of Corporate Audit methodology throughout the execution of an audit engagement.
  • Maintain effective relationships with clients during audit engagements.
  • Establishment of effective internal controls within the Investment Banking Group by identifying and assessing risks, and by participating in the design of internal controls to mitigate risks.
  • Meet and exceed client value expectations and be recognized as knowledge experts in risk assessment, internal control and audit as it relates to the Capital Markets/Investment Banking Group
  • Provide feedback and advice to clients on risks and controls, as appropriate, recommending process improvements that reflect best practices.
  • Suggest new ideas to improve efficiency/effectiveness of client service.
  • Keep current with applicable laws and regulations, corporate policies, industry best practices and developments (e.g. new financial products or technology)
  • Participate in audits, special projects and/or investigations


Qualifications
Knowledge & Skills:
  • Candidate will have 5-7 years experience in audit, with a formal accounting designation (CA, CPA, CMA, CGA) and/or relevant business experience within Capital Markets (front, middle or back offices)
  • Trading experience in capital markets products would be considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of capital markets products (Equity, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Options, Money Market, Foreign Exchange) would be considered an asset.
  • CSC, CFA and/or FRM enrollment or completion an asset.
  • Excellent relationship management skills.
  • Able to tolerate an accelerated rate of change in business and regulatory environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize increasing and sometimes conflicting demands from multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel for audit purposes, sometimes for consecutive weeks, several times a year.
  • Familiarity with audit principles/practices and methodology.
  • Ability to identify and examine emerging risks, in addition to the capability of assessing compliance.
