Position Description:

Pacific Investment Management Company LLC (PIMCO) seeks a VP, Portfolio Manager for its Newport Beach, CA location. Job ID 27636

Duties : Develop, present and execute trading strategies for various fixed income, foreign exchange, and interest rate swap financial instruments, including cross-currency swaps, within the global financial markets to achieve specific objectives for assigned fixed income portfolios. Conduct quantitative research, financial analytics, and financial modeling to develop short- and long-term financial forecasts and generate related strategies and trading recommendations. Conduct mathematical modeling of portfolios for the Portfolio Management group by assessing portfolio risk, position weights, and financial products against client guidelines and benchmarks, and re-balancing portfolio models to target weights as necessary. Preparing daily research notes and request market updates on trading levels, news, and opinions for local market movement, and will support account managers by updating existing accounts based on market conditions, philosophy, process and performance. Communicate with internal and external parties to provide portfolio summaries, analyses, recommendations, and other ad-hoc information, and hold responsibility for supporting and driving new business development through marketing in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

Position Requirements:

Requirements : MBA degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or related quantitative field, and three (3) years of experience in the position offered or closely related position. Employer will also accept Bachelor's degree in the stated fields, followed by five (5) years of progressive, post-bachelor's experience in the position offered or closely related position. Required experience or coursework must include: strategizing portfolio/risk management and optimization, including generating investment recommendations and performing in-depth fundamental analysis on country, industry and company levels; conducting in-depth quantitative analysis on security, asset class level, including developing and implementing pricing models for a variety of fixed income, options, futures, and derivative products using associated techniques such as binomial trees, bootstrapping, Monte Carlo methods, factor models to price and trade fixed income products in sovereigns, credit, interest rate swaps and bond futures; applying econometrics, including cross-sectional and panel regressions, instrumental variables, and generalized method of moments, and applying time series analysis; applying probability theory and inference methods to analyze and develop trading strategies in generalized probabilistic frameworks; using trading software, data management tools, and programming language such as Bloomberg, SQL, and Python; financial modeling using Excel; using machine learning techniques for signal extraction and development of systematic trading strategies; and communicating with internal and external parties (i.e. clients, issuers, bankers, lawyers) regarding investment strategies or activities.
