Description

Highland Capital has an immediate opening for a bright, hard-working individual to work in fund analysis within the Finance Department. This highly interactive position will work with portfolio managers, traders, legal, tax, external auditors, Wall Street brokers/bankers, and senior partners at the firm. The individual will have the opportunity to be involved with fund accounting, financial reporting, tax reporting, performance analysis, finance, collateral management, and risk reporting for mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity funds, and/or separate accounts. Responsibilities
  • Primary responsibility for review of investment and financial reporting for a variety of funds
  • Manage administrators and auditors during the annual financial statement audits
  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc performance and risk reporting for the funds
  • Manage fund administrators, custodians, brokers, and trustees during the NAV calculation process
  • Oversee treasury, collateral management, and other operations processes
  • Control design and documentation
  • Coordinate and address appropriate research requests

Qualifications
  • BBA/BS in Accounting required, from a top-tier school
  • MPA/MBA and/or professional certifications (CFA, CPA, CMA, etc.) are preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience with a Big 4 accounting firm, investment bank, or the financial services industry with focus in treasury, finance, fund accounting or corporate accounting
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to work independently and multi-task in a complex, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent work ethic and professional habits
  • Must operate with a high sense of urgency
  • Advanced MS Office skills, accelerated verbal and written communication skills
