The Role: Director, Strategic Capital Management
The Location: 55 Water Street, New York, NY
The Team: The Director will work closely with the SVP of Capital Management and coordinate directly with the finance leadership team and business teams in order to refine and implement a capital allocation framework for S&P Global. The Capital Management team at S&P Global comprises the Treasury, Tax, Risk Management, Pensions & Insurance verticals.
The Impact: This role will lead the strategic development of a capital allocation model for S&P Global. This would include:

The Role: Director, Strategic Capital Management
The Location: 55 Water Street, New York, NY
The Team: The Director will work closely with the SVP of Capital Management and coordinate directly with the finance leadership team and business teams in order to refine and implement a capital allocation framework for S&P Global. The Capital Management team at S&P Global comprises the Treasury, Tax, Risk Management, Pensions & Insurance verticals.
The Impact: This role will lead the strategic development of a capital allocation model for S&P Global. This would include:
- Developing and maintaining free cash flow forecasts, cash, debt and return-of-capital forecasts for S&P Global, in close collaboration with FP&A
- Developing an analytical model for strategic capital allocation to assess optimal capital usage, both organically and inorganically, to maximize long-term value
- Assisting in refining the company's capital philosophy and targets
- Active involvement with M&A projects and other large strategic initiatives
- Involvement and assistance with other technical teams in the Capital Management umbrella (Treasury, Tax, Risk Management, Pensions & Insurance)
- This role will be integrally involved in complex projects of varying nature.
Reports to SVP of Capital Management.
Responsibilities:
- Develop analytical model for free cash flow/leverage forecasts and for strategic capital allocation
- Participate in funding capacity analysis and structuring decisions for M&A
- Assist in preparing materials for the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors for S&P Global
- Assist and participate in Ratings Agency interactions
- Work closely with S&P Global's Strategic Planning Process to integrate the strategic capital allocation model
- Monitor research analyst models & develop ongoing benchmarking process for strategic capital allocation decisions
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years plus experience, with some mix of investment banking, capital markets, and/or corporate strategy roles preferred
- Undergraduate degree required; MBA, CFA or CPA preferred, but not required
- Strong understanding of advanced financial concepts

- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Highly ambitious and motivated - should be able to run independently with problem solving and team discussions
- Highly analytical and sharp problem solver
- Work in matrixed environments; reciprocal, and capable of taking care of ambiguity
- Some international experience and exposure, able to work effectively and constructively across cultures and market environments
- Demonstrates strongest ethical values, committed to the highest personal and professional standards of conduct
- Knowledge of Information services and/or Financial Services a plus
