Fixed Income Portfolio Manager

Reports To                 Chief Investment Officer

Directly Supervises   None

Location:  Great Falls, MT or Seattle, WA

Summary/Function: 

Serve as co-Portfolio Manager for the firm’s Taxable Fixed Income investment portfolios.  Duties include credit research and portfolio construction, as well as oversight of trade execution. Additional duties including working with Marketing and Client Service associates to solidify current and prospective client relationships; this individual will also collaborate with the Operations staff to identify and implement workflow solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Possess five or more years of Fixed Income experience
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • MBA and/or CFA® designation strongly preferred
  • Experience using Bloomberg and trading platforms, such as MarketAxess
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and listening skills
  • Self-starter with superior time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members, as well as work independently

Duties:

  • Work with the Investment Team in analyzing credit issues and formulating investment recommendations for portfolio construction. 
  • Apply knowledge of overall credit markets to provide meaningful contribution to the market analysis of both equity and credit issues.
  • Transact in a variety of fixed income securities, including Treasuries, TIPS, mortgage-backed securities, corporate and municipal bonds.
  • Contribute to a dynamic, collaborative team environment, which encourages active participation, candor, an appreciation for differing viewpoints, and accountability for decision making. 

Participate in periodic client interactions, as well as formal presentations to current and prospective clients, to provide overall market commentary and perspectives on current portfolio positioning.  Work with clients to develop investment portfolios in adherence to Investment Policy Statements and other specific client guidelines as appropriate.
