Role Purpose:
  • To assist in the risk management of the Holding Company Group and a number of Intermediate Holding Companies.
  • This includes assistance in managing in accordance with the Risk Appetite Statement ("RAS"), and in particular the management of key metrics such as Double Leverage and Holdings Capital Buffer, through forward-looking projection of the balance sheet / cashflows and participation in the Group planning process.
  • Ensure transactions are executed and booked accurately and timely, and cash management is undertaken such that meets its obligations as they fall due. Assist in management of FX exposures and recommendation/booking of appropriate hedges. Assist in effective execution of operational and accounting processes.
  • Assist in assessing and improving the control environment, including participation in the Infrastructure project seeking to improve systems environment.
  • Ensure regular returns are completed accurately and by agreed deadlines.
  • Work collaboratively with Capital Management, Group Treasury, Regional ALCM and broader Finance.
  • Provide ad hoc support to wider activities as required

Key Accountabilities:
  • Support the effective cash management and assist in developing and implementing investment and dividend policies for the entities.
  • Management of the cash resources of the Group entities to include daily review of balances, dealing limits and post deal reviews.
  • Ensure any accounting breaks are corrected in the correct accounting period and investigate errors in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for migrating the current infrastructure onto XFOS including but not limited to; designing operations processes and front office trading migrations.
  • Maintaining a forward looking funding profile for liquid cash in order to plan for structuring transactions and make money market decisions for accessible funds.
  • Maintain cash forecasting analysis and ensure that data is up to date and that the risk appetite is met at all times.
  • Executing FX transactions in order to fund obligations in varying currencies on a forward looking basis.
  • Monthly FX analysis to effectively hedge the FX exposures in the balance sheet.
  • Provide analysis and proposals for the Internal Dividend process ensuring analysis of distributable reserves and board papers are considered in upstreaming decisions. Ensure that all recommendations made are supported by Group Finance, Group Tax, and Group Company Secretary.
  • Support the first line booking and processing of external debt obligations and the intercompany debt portfolio through relevant systems. Responsible for ensuring data repositories of assets and liabilities are accurate and cashflow projections are correctly documented to support key funding activities.
  • Regulatory Reporting for including but not limited to; LCR, NSFR and AM66 reports
  • Attend and observe transaction execution meetings for capital transactions and ensure settlement risk mitigation within the cash execution phase.

Knowledge & Experience/Qualifications:
  • The role holder will be working towards ACA / Management Accountant / MBA / ACT / CFA with experience in finance, treasury, corporate finance, and banking.
  • Degree in Economics/Finance
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with Group executives as well as internal and external senior management
  • Strong ability to prioritise.
  • Lateral thinking/problem solving.
  • Ability to work on own initiative prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines to achieve a high standard of work.
