Based in Central London, the Investment Office (IO) oversees the management of the client investment strategies delivered through an outsourced investment management model. This team has accountability for defining and overseeing appropriate investment mandates for its products, ensuring performance delivery of model portfolios and robust processes for underlying manager selection and portfolio implementation.

The position:

The Multi Manager Investment Analyst will report directly to the Head of Multi Manager Investments who is based in our team's head office at 25 Gresham Street, London. They will be responsible for assisting the Head of Multi Manager Investments in the effective oversight of third party fund managers, the design and delivery of enhancements and development of the investment offer. The successful candidate for this role should have at least 3 years' experience in a similar analyst role/s, and holds up-to-date qualifications (at least CFA Level 1).

The successful applicant should ideally also have demonstrable asset allocation and portfolio construction expertise. They will be expected to contribute their knowledge to portfolio construction workshops and general investment committees.

Key responsibilities
  • Gathering of company, investment manager and financial market data, as well as assessing and interpreting complex financial information to provide oversight of the outsourced investment partner.
  • Regular meetings with investment analysts and company managers to discuss matters related to investment funds.
  • Prepare regular reporting to support investment recommendations within the IO and contribute to investment decisions in providing a coherent rationale for investment strategy.
  • Utilize Bloomberg, Holt, MSCI Barra and other investment software to screen for new investment ideas and maintain due diligence on existing holdings
  • Keeping knowledge up-to-date about the global/UK economy, current financial news and global/UK financial markets
  • Adherence to internal investment guidelines with an understanding of compliant working practices. The candidate will be required to forge a strong working relationship with the IO's Investment Governance team.
  • Participation in investment committees, investment workshops, account reviews, client presentations, conference calls, internal conferences, client events, potentially even media engagement
  • Support for front office queries, financial markets, asset classes and investment performance of model portfolios
  • Participation in investment research projects and significant IO efforts, such as strategic asset allocation, model portfolio construction and review.


Experience, Skills, Capabilities required
  • Minimum 3 years of investment management experience, ideally in a similar position
  • Bachelor's degree as minimum academic qualification
  • Investment Management Certificate as minimum industry qualification, CFA strongly preferred (minimum CFA level 1 already achieved)
  • Knowledge of multi asset investing and risk budgeting within multi asset portfolio management.
  • Understanding of the regulatory environment for investment management
  • Self‐motivated, confident, detail‐oriented, and analytical
  • Superb communication skills - written and oral
  • Ability to multi‐task and manage time effectively
  • Proficient with computers and software packages, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Team player, collaborative, able to work well with others
  • Self-starter, takes initiative
