Business Overview:

PGIM Private Capitals Energy Finance Group (EFG), located in Dallas, Texas, is seeking a Senior Investment Associate in its Power group which focuses on investments in renewable power projects, utilities, cooperatives, transmission and gas-fired power projects.

Description & Responsibilities:

The Senior Investment Associate plays a critical role on deal teams that have responsibility for: business development, new transaction analysis, transaction execution and portfolio management in support of EFG Powers growing portfolio of investments. EFG Power makes debt and equity investments in renewable power generation assets such as wind, solar, and hydroelectric power plants, natural gas-fired power generation assets, transmission assets, and investments in power developers, utilities and cooperatives. In this role, the Senior Associate has the opportunity to leverage existing background and career experiences, while also developing a unique blend of skills involving financial analysis spanning the capital structure, direct transaction sourcing, structuring and negotiating new senior debt and junior capital transactions, as well as investment portfolio management. PGIM Private Capitals clients range from large multi-national public companies to smaller privately held companies.

The Senior Investment Associate will join a deal team that is responsible for:

Business development/transaction origination: Generating new investments through direct calling efforts on CEOs, CFOs and Treasurers, intermediaries and sponsors.

New transaction analysis: Managing the credit underwriting process, including financial modeling and analysis, creating and presenting written and oral evaluations and coordinating internal approvals.

Investment recommendation: Evaluating and advocating investment financing decisions, capital commitments and appropriate structures for transactions based on a recommended issuer credit profile and rating.

Transaction execution: Crafting and negotiating the terms and structure of Prudentials investment and assisting directly with the transaction documentation process.

Portfolio management: Developing a comprehensive understanding of risk management through active monitoring of each investment and sector performance across a diverse portfolio of credits under management.

Qualifications

Excellent analytical and accounting skills.

Ideally 2-4 years of previous investment experience, or similar business experience

Prior experience working with structured, project-finance investments is helpful, but not required.

An MBA or relevant graduate degree with a focus/major within Finance, Investments or other quantitative subjects

Familiarity with the capital markets (knowledge of debt and equity security terms and valuation methodologies)

Strong writing, interpersonal and communication skills with a strong desire to make marketing calls and a natural ability to connect with people

Participation in the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) program
