Conducts a variety of quantitative and qualitative research and analyses on individual equity and fixed income securities or classes of securities. Provides ongoing coverage of assigned asset class or strategies. Assists in analyzing the composition of investment portfolios and recommends portfolio strategies to fulfill investment objects. Analyzes information and situations and communicates ideas and recommendations to the Investment Policy Committee (IPC).
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for Investment Policy Committee reporting including daily reports pertinent, materials for committee meetings, and monthly reports. Responsible for maintaining data integrity across multiple systems including FactSet, Morningstar, Bloomberg, etc.
Monitors and analyzes exchange traded funds (ETF) including sector, factor and style, to make buy and sell and weighting recommendations for the ETF portfolios. Presents investment ideas and model changes to firm’s investment committee. Collaborates with senior team members in developing materials to communicate portfolio attributes.
Calculates and monitors the performance attribution and characteristics of several different investment products spanning fixed income, equities and asset allocation. Conducts analysis and creates reports and presentations to support Financial Consultant’s investment-related information requests.
Assists in maintaining, modifying and reporting performance attributes and statistics of existing quantitative models and potentially develops in-house models based on capacity. Assists with management and quantification of risk exposures and supports investment decisions across investment portfolios. Tracks financial markets and macro-economic data in support of both strategic and tactical asset allocation decisions.
Monitors an assigned equity sector and group of stocks for the firm’s portfolios. Conducts comprehensive industry and equity investment research and prepares and communicates buy and sell equity recommendations. Evaluates likely stock performance and takes ownership of the stock ideas and recommendations.
Serves as the subject matter expert for the companies and sectors under coverage. Presents investment recommendations to each strategy team. Develops and maintains advanced knowledge of portfolio risk modeling techniques and financial analysis methodologies as part of the investment management process.
Interacts with internal and external clients and participates in marketing and sales meetings as appropriate. Generates portfolio updates along with rationale to internal and external customers. Writes and distributes minutes and agendas for Investment Policy Committee (IPC) meetings.
Attends client meetings as needed to discuss portfolio performance and firm’s economic views and investment philosophy. Presents monthly economic analysis to financial planners and discusses investment model performance as needed.
Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in economics, statistics, quantitative finance, mathematics, finance, computer science or related discipline OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certification(s): Progress toward Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
