What will your typical day look like?

This role will see you advising our clients' most senior executives and business owners to evaluate and execute M&A transactions. Importantly you will also play a key role in developing junior team members and raising the profile of the business in the Australian market.

Specifically the role will see you involved in:

  • A wide range of transactions including acquisitions, divestments and capital raisings
  • Cross border deals with blue-chip clients, private companies and private equity
  • Review of key deal documents including Information Memorandums, and input into legal agreements (e.g. SPAs, SHAs)
  • End-to-end project management of transactions including direct liaison with vendors, bidders and other deal stakeholders
  • Review of valuation materials and financial models
  • Management of the due diligence process including the data room and Q&A process
  • Negotiation of key transaction terms
  • Actively participate and lead business development initiatives, both with the Partners in the team, and through your personal networks

Enough about us, let's talk about you.

You will ideally be able to demonstrate:

  • 5+ years' experience in a Mergers & Acquisitions environment, preferably in a lead M&A advisory role
  • Strong valuation and modelling skills
  • Some leadership experience as this role will see you managing small project teams to support the timely delivery of engagements, whilst simultaneously playing a critically valuable mentorship role to the junior team and supporting their career development
  • An understanding of the Australian M&A environment (public market, private company and private equity)
  • A market presence and/or desire to build a profile within Sydney's mid-market M&A community
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or any other related field
  • Completed a post-graduate qualification (e.g. CA, CFA or MBA)
