Key responsibilities of the position will include:
- Research and analysis of investment opportunities identified by the Fund's investment team and contributing to idea generation;
- Development and maintenance of financial models and preparation of internal investment papers in respect of existing and potential investments;
- Developing and maintaining relationships with company management teams, sell-side research analysts and other relevant market participants;
- Assistance with the management and reporting obligations of the Fund, including review of monthly accounts and preparation of monthly investor reports;
- Take the initiative to constantly improve the relevance, quality and timeliness of information to support investment decision making;
Experience, Knowledge, Qualifications required are:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline; e.g. finance, economics
- Post graduate studies in finance (e.g. Master of Applied Finance, CFA) or CA/CPA qualified would be highly regarded
- Exceptionally numerate with strong financial modelling skills and a strong understanding of fundamental valuation techniques and the various metrics used to assess value, risk and return
- Possess an investor's mindset - be intellectually curious, persistent, an independent thinker, and have the conviction to take a view based on your analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated use of initiative and a common sense approach to problem solving
- Ability to work as part of a team and in autonomous and dynamic environments
- Strong work ethic and sense of accountability, with demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and to
- handle multiple assignments simultaneouslyAdvanced skills on Microsoft Office products
- Excellent planning and organisation skills
