The Private Funds Group

Brookfield has an established private funds platform in which it has raised approximately $100 billion, including $32 billion from Brookfield, since 2001. We are seeking a Senior Associate to join the Private Fund Group's Sales Support and Investor Analytics Team.

Position Summary

The Private Funds Sales Support and Investor Analytics Team is responsible for performing various analyzes and making recommendations on the global investor marketplace. The Senior Associate will be accountable for helping create our marketing strategies for closed end and open-end private funds . This will include collaborating with our global client relationship managers, considering the preferences of our current investors and reviewing third-party external databases. As a member of the team, the Senior Associate will play a significant role in strategizing, leading projects and helping the private fund group to meet its capital raising objectives.

Acting on behalf of BAM, the Senior Associate must develop a knowledge of the firm's products and strategies as well as the markets in which they operate. The Senior Associate must also develop a strong understanding of institutional and private wealth alternative investors globally. The successful candidate must be resourceful, proactive, detail-oriented, have a strong ability to problem solve / multi-task and be a collaborative team player. The role will report to the Senior Vice President.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze and present data with commentary highlighting findings to management in a clear succinct manner that demonstrates knowledge
  • Compile presentations summarizing qualitative and quantitative analysis with actionable recommendations that help drive decisions
  • Develop working knowledge of the client relationship management system
  • Anticipate needs for new and improved ways to explore sales data by creating new reports
  • Understand the role of third-party data sources and incorporate as appropriate into reporting and analysis
  • Utilize knowledge of excel to manipulate large data sets and come up with unique solutions to limitations in preparing analysis
  • Coordinate and collaborate with multiple teams and departments, interacting with all levels of the organization, to work on various initiatives in an organized, concise fashion


Qualifications & Requirements
  • 5-7 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: private equity, investor relations, client service, equity research, investment banking
  • Experience working with private funds and knowledge of the alternative asset management industry required; knowledge of real estate, infrastructure and/or private equity preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle pressure effectively to successfully manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously while maintaining the highest standards of work product and adhering to stringent deadlines
  • Highly motivated, proactive self-starter with the ability to work across teams
  • Analytic and strategic thinker with the ability to assess complex situations, make effective recommendations and oversee projects through completion
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a clear ability to effectively coordinate with a wide variety of professionals at all levels and departments within and outside of the organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with SalesForce preferred
  • Undergraduate degree with an excellent academic background; additional credentials including MBA, CPA or CFA preferred
