Position Description:
Pacific Investment Management Company LLC (PIMCO) seeks a Vice President, Senior Portfolio Associate for its Newport Beach, CA location. Job ID 27573.

Duties : Develop, present and execute strategies for various multi-asset financial instruments and portfolio structures within the global financial markets and provide investment support to portfolio managers . Conduct quantitative research, financial analytics, financial modeling, and performance and attribution analyses (top down and bottom up) to develop short- and long-term financial forecasts and related strategy and trading recommendations with a p articular focus on equity beta, volatility and money market strategies. Support Portfolio Managers by monitoring portfolio risk measures, assisting in portfolio optimization given economic targets while adhering to client guidelines, g enerating ideas for relative value trades across PIMCOs portfolios, and implementing cash and derivatives strategies and trades that enhance portfolio returns and mitigate risk. Ensure investment objectives are reflected across portfolios in scope and support portfolio managers in re-balancing portfolios to model/target weights as needed. Monitor portfolio positions and products versus client and internal guidelines in concert with Compliance team. Generate allocation studies across a set of mandates or products in accordance with benchmarks. Participate in technology projects focused on the systemization of workflows, portfolio optimization, and best execution to develop applications used in the trade room and to ensure clients receive top-tier service via a full spectrum of in-house applications. Coordinate and manage complex account transitions. Ensure all accounts have sufficient cash balances to meet daily settlement needs. Perform ad-hoc requests from the Portfolio Management team.

Position Requirements:
Requirements : Must have a Masters degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Information Systems or related quantitative field and five (5) years of experience in position offered or closely related position. Employer will also accept Bachelors degree in the stated fields and seven (7) years of progressive, post-bachelors experience in position offered or closely related position. Full term of experience must include: conducting quantitative research, financial analytics, and financial modeling for cash and derivative instruments with an employer in the area of fixed income trading or structuring, investment banking, or private equity; conducting performance measures and portfolio attribution analyses; applying fundamental bond mathematics, SMARTS, ACE, options strategies, and fixed income analytics; communicating with internal and external parties (i.e. clients, issuers, bankers, lawyers) regarding investment strategies or activities; utilizing Business Objects, Bloomberg, and advanced Excel; and programming in SQL and VBA. At least 3 years of experience must include: portfolio/risk management, including generating investment strategies and trading recommendations with a macro-economic outlook for portfolios across asset classes, including high volatility instruments such as Equities, Foreign Exchange and Emerging Markets; performing trade support within the investment management sector across products including; Futures, Options, Swaps, Bonds and Mortgages; and applying Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities ( UCITS) and 40ACT fund regulatory rules on fixed income and equity portfolios.
