The Position: Portfolio Assistant
Position Summary:
Portfolio Management:
- Preparing and reconciling monthly performance and attribution reports
- Preparing materials for investment team meetings, investment committee meetings and client meetings
- Participating in investment team meetings
- Maintain model portfolios
- Updating and maintaining data for marketing materials
- Maintaining portfolio databases and reports
Research:
- Managing the team's research database
- Providing support to the research team, including relative value reports, and secondary research
- Monitoring rating agency news and communicating to research team
Trading:
- Assisting the portfolio managers and trader with trade execution and support
- Working with Investment Operations to reconcile trade issues, corporate actions
- Monitoring portfolio positioning versus models
- Managing order entry and trade allocation
In addition to the above responsibilities, there will be ad hoc projects and requests in support of the portfolio management team.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Quantitative Finance or related field.
- Demonstrated quantitative, data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint required.
- The following would be considered assets:
- successful completion of, or current enrollment in the CFA program
- experience with databases (Access, SQL) and Python
- Candidates must be able to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
