A key role where you will be responsible for providing financial advice, governance and support to the Digital, Corporate Systems & Finance IT Service Groups. Assist the teams in understanding and managing costs, meeting plan/forecast and cost management targets. Also assist in the allocation and reconciliation of costs to business segments across the organization.
What will you do?
- Provide insightful financial reporting and valued advice based on in-depth analysis of business and operating metrics.
- Provide senior management teams with analysis, reporting and planning/forecast support while fostering a culture of financial discipline and accountability.
- Provide monthly analysis of progress against plan/forecast including operational and project costs.
- Reconcile monthly costs and recoveries while devising an action plan to resolve NIBT variances.
- Collaborate with Performance Management, Business Platforms Finance, Business Planning, Applications Finance, T&O Financial Controls and FSS Support teams.
- Process monthly journal entries, platform allocation entries and prepare supporting documentation for general ledger attestation while ensuring compliance with accounting policy.
- Assist business planning managers in preparing the annual plan, quarterly forecasts & the 5 year outlook.
- Conduct monthly financial reviews with each Service Group to identify opportunities and risk mitigation in achieving financial objectives.
- Review statement of work professional fees requests and ensure supporting documentation are adequately completed.
- Ad-hoc support as it relates to inter-departmental charges, MIS, Project Approval Requests (PAR's), Senior Management reporting and other projects as assigned by manager or requested by key business partners
What do you need to succeed?
Must have
- 5+ years of experience in finance/accounting.
- University degree in Finance/Accounting or related field.
- Superior communication skills, both oral and written, superior interpersonal and effective collaboration skills, to act as a change agent and facilitator and to establish relationships across all levels of the enterprise.
- Strong analytical background with an ability to translate data into key messages/ insights.
- Superior business acumen.
- Strong understanding of strategic and business planning processes.
- Self-motivated - ability to work both independently and collaboratively with multi-functional teams as a leader.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Nice to Have:
- Accounting designation CPA, CFA or MBA.
- Experience working in a complex multi-team environment.
- Knowledge of RBC financial systems and processes.
