Internal Audit is a global organization within Societe Generale comprised of over 1500 professionals covering SG's global business and services to clients in over 150 countries. SG's Internal Audit division, headquartered in Paris, France, provides independent assessments of the company's governance, risk management/internal control environment and credit risk profile for the Board of Directors, senior management, and numerous regulators globally.
Internal Audit in the Americas Region consists of about 45 Auditors in the US and 5 Auditors in Brazil. The US Audit is organized in two generalist teams in charge of Market and Financing activities. In addition, a specialized team is in charge of auditing IT applications and infrastructure.
Credit Risk Review in the Americas Region evaluates and assesses SG's framework of risk management oversight, its infrastructure of controls required for a successful lending business employing a rigorous portfolio performance evaluation methodology within a world-wide risk culture of transparency and accountability. Business lines audited include in particular:
  • Corporate Group (CORI) that is responsible for the global management of the bank's largest U.S. Multinational clients, as well as domestic marketing of the bank's products to the U.S. subsidiaries of non-U.S. Multinational clients. The group's business is built on long term relationships with some of the world's largest and well known companies, and fully leverages the bank's geographic and product capabilities. A sub-group that manages relationships with financial institutions provides an array of innovative products including derivatives solutions for risk management challenges, structured products for portfolio management and high net worth markets, as well as providing capital growth and formation products such as debt capital markets and tax and debt advisory.
  • Global Finance Group (GLFI) provides issuer clients (corporates, financial institutions, public sector) with capital raising solutions, along with structured financing and commodities, forex and interest rate hedging. The Group is developing tailor-made products and providing strategic advice (capital structure advisory, financing schemes and capital markets) based on our worldwide expertise and in-depth sectorial knowledge, we aim to meet clients' financing needs. SG is a top player across euro debt capital markets and won many international awards over the years as a worldwide leader in export, project and natural resources & energy finance.
  • Specialized Financial Services (IBFS) with a focus on equipment finance (SGEF) in the USA and Brazil, and ALD fleet financing/management services in Latin America (Brazil, Mexico, etc).

    MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
    Senior Credit Risk Auditors are expected to have a high degree of credit knowledge/experience and project management skills in order to meet objectives within a pre-defined scope and timeframe. Senior Credit Risk Auditors should raise the profile of the Audit Department's capabilities and project and promote a professional image throughout SG.
    Senior Credit Risk Auditors assume a leadership role in the planning, execution, completion, and communication of credit audit missions. They should be capable of managing large and complex credit audits and should require minimal supervision or oversight given their years of experience and industry/product knowledge. Senior Credit Risk Auditors are expected to take a leadership role in the Audit Department's continuous monitoring program, stay abreast of industry trends/developments to determine their impact on SG's credit portfolios, and coordinate closely with the business lines and/or resource functions (i.e. Risk and Legal divisions).
    Specifically, Senior Credit Risk Auditors:
  • Manage and execute all stages of assigned credit audit missions within a pre-defined timeframe: planning, file review, portfolio analysis, report drafting, and exit meeting;
  • Prepare clear and concise worksheets;
  • Prepare quality reports assessing the business line's overall risk profile with a focus on asset quality and credit risk management, performing industry and peer group analysis wherever appropriate;
  • Are the primary day-to-day contact with the business line managers during credit audit assignments and generally thereafter for continuous monitoring purposes;
  • Ensure business line managers respond directly to the issues that are being raised;
  • Ensure relevant parties (i.e. Audit, Risk, Front and Middle Office) are informed, on a timely basis, of significant credit issues arising from the credit audit assignments;
  • Follow up on audit recommendations from issued reports and tracked via Audit issue tracking tool;
  • Attend assigned Watch List and other portfolio review meetings as part of the continuous monitoring of the credit portfolios;
  • Identify opportunities for improving the credit and/or audit process and share ideas with Senior Audit Managers.

  • Senior level credit risk review experience role in a wide variety of business and products lines, or relevant experience in a credit risk management related role.
  • Experience with corporate credit and derivative exposures in relevant industry sectors (e.g. Asset Securitization, Commodity, Leveraged, Oil and Gas, Mining, Project Finance and Asset Finance type transactions).
