Managing Director - Senior Municipal Bond Portfolio Manager (Evercore Wealth Management)

POSITION: Evercore seeks to hire a Managing Director level Municipal Bond Portfolio Manager for its Wealth Management business located in New York, NY.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage customized client portfolios of municipal tax-exempt and taxable municipal bonds across the curve and investment grade credit spectrum
• Regular and direct client interaction regarding all aspects of municipal bond portfolio management and strategy
• Participate in fixed income investment committee meetings to help firm set policy around municipal bond portfolio construction and credit and duration risk tolerances
• Participate in new business presentations and on-going client meetings
• Work with the credit analyst team and other portfolio managers to evaluate new investments on a relative value basis in the primary and secondary markets
• Thorough understanding of the nuances of individual state income and other taxes
• Experience creating diversified portfolios for residents of high-income tax states
• Source and execute municipal bond trades
• Deep knowledge of municipal credit a plus
• Strong understanding of and relationships in the municipal cash management market a plus
• Basic understanding of the taxable fixed income markets, including Treasuries and corporate bonds, a plus

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate should be an accomplished Municipal professional with 15+ years of experience managing investment grade municipal bond portfolios and working directly with high net worth individuals, families, and institutions.

• Bachelor's degree required; relevant undergraduate degree, CFA or MBA a plus
• A minimum of 15 years of experience working in municipal finance
• Experience working directly with high net worth individuals, families, and institutions
