Overview
Trading Asia Pacific securities operates within the APAC time zone based in Sydney with secondary responsibilities in the local regions of the Europe and the Americas.
The Portfolio trading role is a key member of the Portfolio Solutions trading team, serving as execution management point person for an equities focused role on behalf of the business' transition management and sales and trading clients. The trader's primary focus will be trading equity securities within the APAC time zone with secondary responsibilities in the local regions of the Europe and the Americas. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Key Accountabilities
  • Responsible for executing regional equity program trading assignments and single security orders in accordance with agreed upon instructions from the firm's transition management team and/or asset management clients.
  • Ability to create, maintain and unwind various hedging strategies using multiple methods alongside program trading assignments
  • Assist with management of the firms counterparty and IT relationships, including continual evaluation and design/redesign of the firms workflow with both counterparties and technology providers
  • Take ownership for regional best execution responsibilities and ongoing counterparty execution quality and analysis

  • Understand, comply and implement necessary regulatory responsibilities for portfolio execution
  • Collaborate with regional trading desks to accomplish global strategic initiatives
  • Build on the firms Asset Manager client base in the Greater China region and grow revenue.
Expertise and Qualifications
  • 5-10 years of Capital Markets experience
  • Hold the FINRA Series 3, 7, 57 and 63 licenses
  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree or international equivalent
  • Preferably hold a CFA charter
  • Have previous experience with international trading and middle office including APAC, EMEA and the Americas.
Skills Desired
  • Firm understanding of local APAC market trading and best execution standards
  • Experienced individual that can work in a fast paced, market-driven, trading floor environment and manage tight deadlines
  • Ability to diagnose and recommend process improvements
  • Have strong problem resolution skills
  • Have the ability to service various product lines, ensuring compliance to industry rules and regulations and multiple market conventions
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to easily and comfortably communicate with individuals, groups and clients
  • Have exceptional systems and computer skills and overall technological proficiency, including competent in programming Python, Javascript and C++.
