Your opportunity
This is your opportunity to join the market leading Deloitte M&A FIG team, operating across the banking, insurance and asset management sectors in both the public and private markets. With recent senior industry hires, we are looking to expand our team to bring the full range of Deloitte's technical and strategic capabilities to the FIG M&A market.

As part of Deloitte Advisory Corporate Finance, the M&A FIG team provides corporates, private equity houses and shareholders with a full suite of M&A services advising on acquisitions, divestments, buy-outs and capital raisings, a significant number of which are cross-border or international in nature.

We encourage consideration of flexible ways of working, both formal and informal arrangements that allow for the best outcomes for our people and our clients. If this opportunity is of interest to you with some flexibility, please do discuss with us.

Your role
We are looking for Managers to join our growing M&A FIG team as we deliver industry specialised M&A advice, deal execution and first class client service to financial institutions.

As a Manager you will be responsible for:
  • The day-to-day management of transactions including report production, dataroom and process management, coordinating technical specialists, and effectively communicating with clients, bidders, advisors and senior management.
  • Taking responsibility for the preparation of information memoranda, management presentations, valuation analysis and client communications.
  • Valuation and financial modelling, including Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) and Leverage Buyout (LBO) analysis.
  • Conducting industry and company research for both deal origination and transaction analysis.
  • Creating marketing material for business development opportunities.
  • Working effectively with diverse groups of people within an inclusive team culture, where people are recognised for their contribution.
  • Supporting the learning and growth of team members.

You will have the opportunity to work on and contribute to some of the most exciting and complex deals in the financial institutions market; working alongside experts in the industry. Openness to learn and enthusiasm to work hard for our clients are necessary for this role.

Your work, your choice
At Deloitte we believe the best impact is the value we add, not the hours we sit at our desk. We carefully consider agile ways of working, both formal and informal, that allow for the best impact for our people and our clients. Please speak to your recruiter about the working pattern that works best for you.

Location: London with occasional domestic and international travel
Suggested work pattern: Permanent full-time

Your professional experience
The ideal candidate will exhibit:
  • M&A advisory experience with direct experience of managing deals on a day to day basis
  • Capability to contribute towards development and implementation of often innovative and bespoke M&A strategies for each transaction.
  • Enthusiasm for and a thorough understanding of mergers and acquisitions.
  • Passion for finance and financial institutions with willingness to learn more about the industry.
  • Excellent numeracy skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to absorb and interpret large amounts of data quickly.
  • Ability to undertake detailed financial/commercial exploration for inclusion in client reports.
  • Client and team focus, with ability to work quickly and establish effective working relationships
  • Logical and meticulous approach to problem solving.
  • A strong level of communication and presentational skills.
  • High level of project management and organisational skills.
  • Experience or potential to lead on business development activities and pitching.
  • Ability to develop, coach and motivate members of the team.
  • ACA, CFA or equivalent accounting/finance qualification, though not essential depending on other experience.

Above all, we want your enthusiasm, energy and imagination to contribute to the team and what it can achieve.

Your service line: Financial Advisory
Advising clients in the moments that define their business takes multiple layers of expertise. Much more than due-diligence, this is about diverse teams of specialists coming together, crossing service lines and international borders to tackle the many, complex issues involved in major transactions. And we have one of the broadest networks in the business. Here, you'll find fascinating, career-building projects, market leading approaches, cutting-edge resources, huge clients and inspirational colleagues. As well as opportunities to develop a deep industry or product specialism.
