Title:                    Settlement and Accounting Associate

Reports To:         Chief Investment Officer – Capital Markets

Location:             Seattle, WA

Job Summary

Seeking a securities settlement specialist to join our operations team. Primary responsibilities include trade processing and U.S. securities settlements. Additionally, this position is expected to maintain and update securities database systems, perform daily reviews of cash management, perform account reconciliations, provide reports to portfolio managers in additional to other accounting related tasks.

Essential Job Duties

  • Daily U.S. trade settlements activities via DTCC and FED wire
  • Security set-up for both equity and fixed income in internal accounting system
  • Enter/import daily trades into internal accounting system and set-up new securities
  • Update cash transactions daily          
  • Liaison between brokers and custodian bank to resolve trade and securities related issues as they arise
  • Maintain securities database including factor and index updates
  • Resolve any discrepancies between custodian bank and internal system
  • Provides various reports to portfolio managers
  • Account reconciliations
  • Assist with accounting related tasks and quarterly reporting process as needed 

Qualifications, Experience and Education

  • Previous working experience in a financial service firm or related environment, especially with settlement process, is a plus
  • Experience with fixed income and equity securities
  • Accounting related experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not necessary

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Computer knowledge: Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Access; Portia, Bloomberg, Omgeo TradeSuite, OASYS and Adobe Acrobat
