Global Asset Management

Global Asset Management, the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC's worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. Global Asset Management fulfils its purpose of connecting HSBC's clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.

We are now inviting qualified individuals to join this team in the role of Fund Manager.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Manage the local strategies in accordance with their investment objective and risk profile with no breach
  • Be conversant with the investment process as backup to the other team members
  • Support management communication and business growth of the client portfolios
  • Be involved in new fixed income and equity projects working closely with HSBC AM entities
  • Respond with an adequate answer to Sales / relationship managers / internal clients
  • Close working relationship with senior Portfolio Managers and credit analysts within the team
  • Undertake adhoc projects as assigned by senior team members
  • Operate within and in accordance with procedures
  • Suggest improvement to procedure as necessary


Qualifications

Requirements
  • Able to manage the fixed income accounts in accordance with their guidelines.
  • Be able to work closely with other colleagues to deliver performance and monitor the absolute/relative risk of the fixed income portfolios.
  • Be able to manage funds and strategies following the guidelines with the maximum efficiency under the current market context
  • Be able to backup other team members and support other colleagues in other areas when needed
  • Be able to respond to Sales / Product Specialists for the questions relative to the existing positions.
  • Be able to adapt and learn in changing market environment
  • Be able to provide sound recommendation to the overall investment process and risk analysis
  • Dealing with trustee/custodian/business support and fixed income brokers/counterparties
  • University degree holder and ideally CFA qualified
  • 2 to 5 years relevant investment management experience
  • Management of portfolios for the interest of the Clients, complying with internal and externals rules. Aware of the guidelines of the portfolio under management avoiding breaches.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Pro-active in raising issues and supporting the overall investment process and risk analysis
