Global Asset Management

Global Asset Management, the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC's worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. Global Asset Management fulfils its purpose of connecting HSBC's clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.

We are now inviting qualified individuals to join this team in the role of Senior Fund Manager.

Principal Responsibilities
  • To provide fundamental fixed income and equity research on
  • Malaysian corporates and Sukuk bonds
  • To provide industry research & macro analysis on the above-mentioned areas
  • To perform dealing of local bonds and equities in a safe and controlled manner
  • To provide analysis and recommendation on a timely basis
  • Exchange of investment ideas with AMG regional teams in HK
  • Participate in client liaison and marketing work when required
  • To ensure Head of the investment team is appropriately informed and updated on relevant investment issues related to the above-mentioned areas
  • To assist in any equity related queries from any client accounts
  • To foster and develop a professional working relationship with the related investment teams
  • To work effectively within the team based analyst framework
  • To operate in a disciplined manner and produce investment recommendations
  • To ensure dealing activities are carried out in accordance with all local regulatory and internal policies and procedures without errors and only within permitted systems and methods of communication.
  • Has responsibility for overseeing and ensuring that Operational risks are managed in accordance with the Group Standards Manual, Risk FIM, & relevant guidelines & standards.


Qualifications

Requirements
  • Maintain in depth knowledge of companies via non-financial & management contacts
  • Be able to access both the global and regional macro drivers that may impact those areas
  • The role holder must be able to work autonomously and then provide investment recommendations and advice to the investment team
  • The role holder must be able to follow the investment process with discipline and then be able to deliver a logical investment recommendation to the investment team at regular stock investment meetings.
  • University degree holder and ideally CFA qualified
  • 2 to 5 years investment management experience
