Global Asset Management

Global Asset Management, the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC's worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. Global Asset Management fulfils its purpose of connecting HSBC's clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.

We are now inviting qualified individuals to join this team in the role of Senior Finance Manager.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Finance partner to business: provide financial insights and act as a strategic adviser to business on all financial matters.
  • Management information, planning and analysis: provide management reports to business and Group, monitor performance against plan and forecast expected results for the entity and prepare annual budget for the company.
  • Financial Accounting and Controls: timely processing of accounts payable and receivables, rolling out relevant policies and implementing changes when required, ensure accounting procedures and controls are adhered to as well as reconciliations of records and balances are up to date.
  • Regulatory, Tax and other external reporting: ensure timely submission of all regulatory, tax and other external reporting. This include managing the relationship with external auditors and working with them to prepare audited accounts for the company.
  • Revenue accounting: reviewing agreements and liaise with Tax to ensure fee sharing are in line with transfer pricing policy, ensuring right fee rates are used for fee processing.
  • Understanding of Malaysia's Asset Management industry. Strong interpersonal skills to manage key stakeholders in a matrix organization, working with the local EXCO and key stakeholders across the bank and the regional Finance team.


Qualifications
Requirements:
  • A degree qualified CPA/CFA with at least 10 years' experience in financial industry and preferably with at least 3 years in an asset management company.
  • Abreast of latest financial accounting and regulatory requirements and anticipative of impacts to the Bank
  • Ability to form effective relationships and achieve influence at the most senior level in the organization. Able to influence without authority
  • Communication and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to articulate the case for risk management in the language of business
