Our client a reputable financial institution within the GCC region, has an exciting opportunity for a Credit Risk Manager. The institution trades actively across the equity, fixed income, real estate, and private equity markets.
The opportunity is unique, the successful individual will be developing the businesses Enterprise Risk Management culture, coupled with being involved in the end to end credit risk management framework. A high level of credit analysis and technical reporting is required, coupled with relationship management across front office and senior management. The team is very small, and the individual, needs to be adaptable, and prepared to learn new things, for example liquidity and market risk.
The person will be accountable for the following;
The individual will ideally have a degree in a numerate discipline, and an FRM/CFA or postgraduate degree is desirable. Market and Credit Risk experience is key, as is a strong knowledge of Treasury and Investment products. There is flexibility for someone coming from the buy or sell side, though a combination of both would be highly advantageous. It is critical that the individual is working within the GCC/MENA region.

- Conduct detailed credit analysis for the Head of Risk, in terms of setting credit lines for counterparties to be utilized by the Treasury team. These will be for GCC and MENA based financial institutions. Experience in the regional markets is crucial
- Conduct counterparty reviews and make recommendations for counterparty exposures
- Prepare monthly Risk Management Committee packs, concentration on Enterprise Risk Management, to include credit brief, key risks, concentration risk across counterparty, sector and country level, coupled with liquidity risk and problem loans
- Cover Market and Liquidity risk by monitoring and adhering to Market risk Limits for the asset management business
- Promote and support the risk culture, and build relationships with the business lines and senior management
