Within the Zurich Group, Investment Management is a community of about 500 investment professionals worldwide, managing assets of over CHF 33 billion. Being responsible for managing Zurich's own assets of about 200 billion dollars, we are an important partner for the Group's insurance business and look for a new colleague to realize our strategic ambitions.

Your Role

As a Real Estate Market Strategist your main responsibilities will involve:

• Real estate market research, including the definition and maintenance of qualitative and quantitative requirements for RE investments with the aim of obtaining superior long term risk adjusted investment returns
• Evaluation and proposals of RE capital markets to invest in, based on qualitative and quantitative requirements
• Investment idea generation for products and balance sheets investing in real estate
• Assisting the constructing of portfolios and real estate investment products incorporating optimal mix of core, value-add and opportunistic management styles
• Supporting the implementation of best-practice performance measurement of real estate portfolios and managers, including ESG measures and other relevant KPIs
• Data management and assistance to the necessary reporting activities of products and balance sheets investing in real estate
• Other ad-hoc activities, such as valuation modelling, preparing research papers, presentations and articles, internal workshops and conferences, other tasks

Your Skills and Experience

As a Real Estate Market Strategist your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

• Master's Degree with a focus on real estate, investments, finance, banking or economics
• Existing or planned CAIA/CFA qualification is an advantage
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in areas such as real estate research, real estate asset/portfolio management, property management, accounting, investment analysis or macroeconomic analysis, preferably within an insurance company or another similar financial institution
• Strong knowledge of real estate investments, capital markets and investment structures
• Very good competences in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and PowerPoint
• Analytical, data- and detail-oriented mind-set
• Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
• Creativity and propensity for initiative, innovation and continuous improvement
• F luent written and spoken English, while German is a strong Advantage
