The Event Driven and Special Situations Derivatives Deskfocuses on the securities of companies involved in M&A activity orsignificant restructurings. The team speaks to institutional tradingclients, publishes trading notes and facilitates trading in flow in announcedM&A transactions.

The position described below is part of the US Single StockDerivatives Desk within Americas Equities, which is responsible forfacilitating client trading coverage, pricing and execution in US Equities andDerivatives.

Key Responsibilities will include:
  • Researching all announced US and cross border M&A transactions
  • Modelingtransactions to assess rate of return, probability of deal completion, deltaadjusted position hedges
  • Speakingto research analysts, corporates and outside counsel to discuss transactions
  • Discussingannounced transactions and proposals with institutional equities salesforce andclients
  • Workingwith trading desk to manage risk and exposure on equity positions from customerfacilitation
  • Travelingto meet with institutional clients and regional sales teams
Qualifications:
  • 5 years' experience in M&Abanking or research, buy side experience a plus
  • Series 7& 63, CFA or MBA a plus
  • A fundamentalunderstanding of equity market products including basic option strategies andtheir pricing components
  • Existingrelationships with merger arbitrage and event driven clients
  • Strongcommunication skills, work ethic, attention to detail and team-orientedmentality
