The Role Responsibilities
Strategy
Understand Group and CB strategy to provide value-added support to GAM/RM from Credit Analysis perspective
Business
Provide direct support to GAM/RM on the Credit Functions on all credit related matters:
• Provide timely credit analysis - client's industry, risk aspects, competitive position, mangement strength, balance sheet, cash flows etc
• Ensure alignment with the bank's credit policy and procedure
• Complete Group Mandate/BCA Part 1, Part 2, financial analysis/spreads, scorecards, ESRA, FM A&S & GWWR checklist
• Test and monitor Covenants & Risk Triggers
• Submit EAR & ASTAR reporting/updates to credit
• Prepare country specific regulatory check-lists (where applicable)
• Proactively manage portfolio & allocation of limits
• Evaluate risks associated with particular proposed transactions, where required
Processes
• Work with RMs to manage RWA, identify underutilized limits
• Prepare timely Stress Tests wherever required
• Provide support on Regulatory stress tests conducted annually
• Prepare specific industry study
• Ensure satisfactory Audit completion, both internal and regulatory
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of Regulatory Returns / Data
• Prepare Credit Opinion reports wherever required.
People and Talent
• Design team member's development plan
• Assist line manager for talent retention and people management
Risk Management
• Ensure timely submission of quality Quarterly Credit Reports
• Monitor Risk Triggers, Covenants and other credit conditions and report appropriately
• Ensure Zero BCA over dues and manage BCA extension rate
• Liaise with Credit on BCA and other credit issues and ensure quick turnaround on queries
• Attend EA/Portfolio Review/MTM calls along with the RM, Bank Senior and/or Client Manager
• In partnership with the RM, Bank Senior and/or Client Manager, ensure timely identification of accounts to be put in EA as per the bank's policies and guidelines
Regulatory & Business conduct
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct
• Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters
Key Stakeholders
• Global or Regional or Country Product partners e.g. FM, CF and TB
• Global or Regional or Country Function partners e.g. Risk, Compliance, COO, HR, Finance and Corporate Affairs
• Global or Regional or Country management team members if required
Other Responsibilities
• Embed Here for good and Group's brand and values in daily duties
• Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.
Our Ideal Candidate
• Bachelor degree in Banking or Finance related
• Sound knowledge of accounting and financial principles gained by experience or qualification
• Credit background preferred
• Professional English skills
• MBA or CFA qualifications advantageous, but not required
• Management experience preferred
