Job Description:
Residing in the Technology department in Austin, TX and reporting to the Senior Technology Manager of Sales (Global Client Group), the candidate will manage a team of product and system analysts focused on the product lifecycle management of both proprietary and non-proprietary software solutions for client relationship management, reporting, and various enabling sales technologies. The Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of technology solutions and ensuring alignment with software development teams working with the product and system analysts.

This position will require in-depth knowledge of both the financial services industry and technology. As well, he/she must have a unique combination of skills, with a background in having successfully led large business applications projects and experience with agile software development. This position will interface with various levels within the organization and therefore require excellent communications skills, a focus on customer service, and a commitment to relationship building.

Responsibilities
  • Manage application product teams, primarily focused on Sales enabling technologies.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and alignment to product strategies across multiple business groups.
  • Oversee and work with the business and technology product owners aligned with the Sales product portfolio strategies.
  • Work across internal organizations, inclusive of business, data and technical owners and external vendors to implement technology solutions and process changes.
  • Collaborate across business and technology teams to ensure proper budgeting of the portfolio products and work with the development team on resource allocation and timelines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in the business and technology groups.
  • Ensure that appropriate Agile Scrum or Project Management practices are followed and, in some cases, manage the implementation of large scale strategies.
  • Ensure the quality of functional and user acceptance testing is executed in partnership with engineering.
  • Provide oversight of 3rd party procurement and relationship management.

Qualifications
  • 8-10+ years experience in a technology organization managing technology products, systems, and teams of business analysts; experience in mutual fund industry preferred.
  • Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with business application development methodology and lifecycle management.
  • Experienced manager with proven ability to coach, guide, encourage and develop staff.
  • Strong consultative skills and experienced working in collaboration with interdependent business technology teams through ideation, design, implementation and service operations.
  • Experience overseeing business analysis through the development of user stories and detailed acceptance criteria for developer handoff & QA disciplines.
  • Demonstrated leadership in delivering business applications projects.
  • Experience with software package selection, implementation and vendor management.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated communication skills and experience interacting with senior managers on both business and technical issues.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with a delivery-based orientation.
  • Advanced degree, CFA, and/or PMP a plus.
