We are looking for a bright, motivated, engaged individual who is interested in a career in in-house corporate investor relations (not agency, hedge fund, or private equity investor relations). This role will be primarily supporting BGC's former subsidiary, Newmark Group. http://www.ngkf.com/. In this role you will have the opportunity to interact with many aspects of the business including the finance, treasury, investor relations and corporate communications teams, as well as, eventually with various business heads and executives across the Firm. For the right person, this could be a stepping-stone into a more senior investor relations position. This person will be asked to take the CFA Level 1 exam if they do not have a strong background in finance.
Responsibilities:
• Provide organization, logistical, and administrative support for the investor relations team.
• Support the communication of important news items to senior management.
• Prepare and proofread general correspondence including emails, letters, memos, and reports.
• Coordinate domestic and international travel arrangements which might include, scheduling flights, reserving car service, making hotel reservations, colleague and client meetings etc.; must be able to reschedule based on last minute accommodations.
• Prepare and submit all expense reports and vendor invoices on a timely basis.
• Maintain supervisors' calendars and contacts in Microsoft Outlook ; set up internal and external meetings of individuals at all levels.
• Maintain high-level contacts of a complex and confidential nature both inside and outside the company which may require use of discretion and knowledge of corporate operations and policies.
• Coordinate all related conference rooms and/or external meeting locations including, catering, audio/videoconference set up/webcasts.
• Learn from the investor relations team as well as finance, corporate communications, and various business managers.
• Assist in shareholder questions/issue resolution, as needed.
Qualifications:
• Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite.
• College graduate - preferably with a major in economics, accounting, business or finance, but a willingness to learn and take CFA Level 1 will also suffice.
• Interested in pursuing a career in finance.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities at one time and keep track of deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• An energetic, efficient, self-motivating and resourceful team player and individual contributor.
• Work experience in financial services or commercial real estate services a plus.
