Senior Equity Research Associate – Internet

Job Summary:


Under limited supervision, uses specialized knowledge and skills obtained through experience, specialized training or certification to support Equity Analyst in preparing industry and company research by collecting, organizing, and analyzing data, writing investment-related research reports, and creating/maintaining financial models.  Guidance is provided to perform varied work that is somewhat difficult in character requiring some evaluation, originality and ingenuity to make moderately complex decisions.  Leads defined work or projects of moderate scope and complexity and resolves or recommends solutions to complex problems.  


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


• Develops familiarity with industry and related companies in order to assess the relevance of news and other data.
• Gathers data about assigned industries and companies.
• Performs quantitative analysis of macroeconomic variables that impact the industry.
• Maintains computer databases covering industry and related companies.
• Prepares written industry and company specific reports.
• Develops financial models for revenue and income forecasts, cash flow analysis, balance sheet, and quarterly projections.
• May lead the work of others and provide training when needed. 
• Coaches and mentors other Research Associates.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


Knowledge of:


• Company’s working structure, policies, mission, and strategies.
• Fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of Equity Research.
• Principles of banking and finance and securities industry operations.
• Financial markets and products.


Skill in:


• Identifying relationships, draw logical conclusions, and interpret results.
• Quantitative and analytical analysis sufficient to assist in the development of corporate financial projections and equity valuation metrics.
• Using technical/professional knowledge, interpersonal and sales skills to obtain customers’ commitment to ideas, services, or products.
• Operating standard office equipment and using required software application to produce correspondence, reports, electronic communication, and spreadsheets.

• Organize, manage, and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with critical deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.  
• Use appropriate interpersonal styles and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with all organizational levels.
• Attend to detail while maintaining a big picture orientation.
• Interpret and apply policies and identify and recommend changes as appropriate. 
• Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

• Take and active part in the training and ongoing development of other associates.
• Prepare and deliver clear, effective, and professional presentations.


Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:


• Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Finance, Accounting or Business and a minimum of two (2) years of investment related experience.

• Fluent in Mandarin (oral, written, and reading).
• Ability to travel internationally.

• Financial modeling skills and deep knowledge of the financial markets and equity valuation.


Licenses/Certifications:


• SIE required provided that an exemption or grandfathering cannot be applied.
• Series 63, Series 86, & Series 87 or the ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire.
